January is Named National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month

President Barack Obama has announced January 2010 as National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. The United States Congress is also working to establish January as the official month of prevention for slavery and human trafficking.

This year also marks the 10-year anniversary of the signing of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) by President Bill Clinton.
